Not around long enough to have a gym membership while traveling? No problem! Introducing the Yoga Mat. With a starting fee of (how ever much you want to pay for one), and a monthly rate of $0! It can't get better than that can it? When traveling, it can be very hard to find a place with a fitness center, unless you are paying 50+ for a room per night! Which can be very expensive. Yoga mat I never acknowledge how useful a Yoga mat can be. Regardless of how advanced your Yoga practice is. The mat can be very easy to carry around, for it is very light, and for the multiple uses it has. I've use it as a pillow, sitting mat, sleeping mat, eating mat, taken it to the beach, etc. etc. etc. It literally becomes your best friend. Ps. On a side note, it comes in different colors and prints! Routine Warm up: you can either go for a run or you can do 5 Sun Salutations (a combination of yoga poses). Work out: from there you can work on your abs, legs, arms, etc. with any exercises you want! Or you can also get into the Yoga grind (if your not a regular Yogi) and find some poses to try out. Cool down: seated poses, or stretching. Maybe Savasa (or just lay down on your mat and enjoy!) The best part about your Traveling Yoga Mat is that it can instantly become your work out place, wherever and whenever. Giving you the opportunity to have the best scenic views that a regular gym can't offer, and let's not forget the interaction with nature! Oh what's not to love a about a Yoga mat! Maybe it can become the one place, while traveling, that you can call home :)

Hey! One of the reasons I feel so comfortable with a Yoga mat is because eventually it became my home. I feel safe and I feel like I can do anything on it. Some of the non yoga stuff i do on it is, stretching, push ups, squats with weights, lunges, sit ups and crunches! and really anything I want to do, and it just keeps me focus in one place, and also it feels like theres a shield around me! haha.

Great tips - I find it so hard to get into a routine for working out when traveling and not being a good yogi i've downloaded apps to give me a quick routine a day - now if I could just make an effort to take my mat with me whilst traveling it should all fall together!

Great tips. I know I do a lot of these on the road without the mat. Never thought of taking the mat - just seems like extra stuff to take.

Great idea! I am not a workout person by any means but will definitely keep this in mind for the future :).

CategoriesAuthorHello, I am 21 years old. Fascinated with the struggles of life and the beauty that comes with them. I travel not to pin point places on a map, but to discover the true essence of humanity and what makes each one of us uniquely beautiful. All I want to do is breathe the air around me as I go. Just to breathe life in :) Archives
